Firm History
and Practice
Linehan
& Assoc., L.P.A. was founded when James M. Linehan formed a Legal
Professional Association to provide the residents of Fairfield County
with aggressive, fair, and reasonable legal services.
The firm offers a diversified law practice
with experience in Criminal Defense, Family Law, Civil Litigation and
Appeals, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death, Corporate and Business
Law, Real Estate, Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning. Please contact
our office to discuss your need for representation in any one of these
areas with one of our attorneys.
Should you wish to retain our services, the
attorney with whom you meet will discuss the fees and costs associated
with your particular case. The fee structure used will depend upon the
subject matter, the time spent, the complexity of the problem, the skill
required and similar factors. These factors are set forth in the retainer
agreement provided at the first meeting between you and the attorney.
The two general types of fees are hourly fees and contingent fees.
Contingent fee agreements are available in such cases as personal injury,
wrongful death, or professional malpractice. Hourly fees are required
for most all other areas of practice. We do require a retainer and a
deposit for costs before beginning hourly fee work. This information
will be provided to you and fully explained in greater detail before
the attorney begins any work on your case.
